Hunting Regulations
BridleWood Hunting Policy Section 3.14
Hunting, during hunting season and only with BOWS, CROSSBOWS, and SHOTGUNS shall be allowed, if in accordance with state law and county regulations.
Hunting Licenses
A hunting license is required of any person, regardless of age, who hunts any animal, bird, frog or turtle in this state (except furbearers, if the hunter possesses a trapper's license). No license is required for nuisance fur-bearing animals, depredating hogs or coyotes (see below). Non-residents under 17 years of age may purchase and hunt with the Special Resident Hunting License (Type 102).

2009-10 Texas Hunting Seasons for Hays County
(County seat: San Marcos)
White-tailed Deer
Archery Only: October 3-November 6, 2009. No permit required to hunt antlerless deer unless MLD permits have been issued for the property.
(West of IH 35)
Bag Limit: 5 deer, no more than 2 bucks, all seasons combined.
General Season: November 7, 2009-January 3, 2010.
Special Late General Season: January 4-17, 2010 (antlerless and spike buck deer only).
Special Youth-Only Season: Early open season: October 31-November 1, 2009. Late open season: January 4-17, 2010.
Bag limits, provision for the take of antlerless deer, and special requirements of the county, shall be as specified for the first 2 days of the general open season.
Licensed hunters 16 years of age or younger may hunt deer by any lawful means during this season.
Javelina: Open Season: October 1-February 24. Bag Limit: 2.
Turkey: The annual bag limit for Rio Grande and Eastern turkey, in the aggregate for all counties, is four (4), no more than one of which may be an Eastern turkey. For counties that have an Eastern Turkey spring season, there is no fall season.
Fall: Open season: November 7, 2009-January 3, 2010 (either sex).
Archery Only: October 3-November 6, 2009.
Special youth-only (general) fall turkey season: October 31-November 1, 2009, and January 16-17, 2010. Only licensed hunters 16 years of age or younger may hunt turkey during this season. Bag limit as specified by the general fall turkey season.
Spring: Rio Grande turkey: Open season: March 20-May 2, 2010 (gobblers only).
Special Youth-Only (Rio Grande turkey): Open season: March 13-14 and May 8-9, 2010.
Quail: Open season: October 31, 2009-February 28, 2010. Daily bag limit: 15 Possession limit: 45
Dove: September 1-October 25, 2009 and December 26-January 9, 2010
In addition to a hunting license, a migratory game bird stamp endorsement ($7) is required to hunt any migratory game bird, including mourning dove(a Federal Sandhill Crane Permit also is required to hunt sandhill crane). An upland game bird stamp endorsement ($7) is required to hunt turkey, quail, pheasant, lesser prairie chicken, or chachalacas.
